Electronic Engineering Papers at Tauranga (2023)
The Electronic Engineering programme is based on studies in electronics, mathematics, and physics. There are papers in design and a major electronic engineering project in the fourth year. Extensive experience is attained in electronic laboratories. Economic and professional training elements are also included. New Zealand's electronics manufacturing industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the country, and New Zealand has a shortage of skilled people. Companies are targeting niche markets, such as telecommunications, and export their products all over the world. The largest number of exporters is in the industrial/commercial field, followed by healthcare, radiocommunications and agriculture.
Electronic Engineering is available as a specified programme for the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (BE(Hons)).
To complete the specified programme in Electronic Engineering, students must complete the following programme.
Note: There will be no new enrolments in the Electronic Engineering programme in 2020 onwards. Students who commenced Electronic Engineering in 2019 or prior should consult the Division of Health, Engineering, Computing and Science for programme advice. Please refer to the new Electrical and Electronic Engineering subject for further information.
For a full list of offerings in this subject, including those available in Hamilton and online, see the Catalogue of Papers. Not all qualifications and subjects can be taken in full in Tauranga. See what can be studied in Tauranga.
