Health, Sport and Human Performance (2022)
Health, Sport and Human Performance draws on a range of theoretical and applied perspectives to examine the political, cultural, economic and social forces that influence communities and organisations as well as people's behaviour in relation to sport and leisure.
Note: There will be no new enrolments into the Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Health, Sport and Human Performance subject. Students are directed to new subjects in Community Health, Human Performance Science, and Sport Development and Coaching.

Prescriptions for the PGCert(HSHP), PGDip(HSHP), BHSHP(Hons) and MHSHP
To complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Health, Sport and Human Performance, students must complete 60 points at 500 level from the following list.
To complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Health, Sport and Human Performance, students must take 120 points at 500 level from the following list.
To complete a BHSHP(Hons), students must take 120 points at 500 level. Students must complete an approved research methods paper (normally EDUCA500, EDUCA557 or HSHUP501) and one of HSHUP590, HSHUP592 or HSHUP593. The BHSHP(Hons) is available for students who have completed their BHSHP or equivalent qualification, and who have attained a GPA of at least B+ in their third year papers.
To complete an MHSHP, students must take 180 points at 500 level. Students must complete an approved research methods paper (normally EDUCA500, EDUCA557 or HSHUP501) and one of HSHUP590, HSHUP592, HSHUP593 or HSHUP594. The MHSHP is available for students who have completed either:
a) a BHSHP with at least a B grade average across the 300 level papers, or equivalent qualification, or
b) a BHSHP(Hons) with at least second class honours (second division), or a PGDip(HSHP), or equivalent qualification.

The Master of Philosophy is a one year research-based degree in which students undertake a programme of approved and supervised research that leads to a thesis which critically investigates an approved topic of substance and significance, demonstrates expertise in the methods of research and scholarship, displays intellectual independence and makes a substantial original contribution to the subject area concerned, and is of publishable quality.

The Doctor of Philosophy is a three year research-based degree in which students undertake a programme of approved and supervised research that leads to a thesis which critically investigates an approved topic of substance and significance, demonstrates expertise in the methods of research and scholarship, displays intellectual independence and makes a substantial original contribution to the subject area concerned, and is of publishable quality.
