Language and Literacy Education


The Language and Literacy Education programme provides graduate academic and professional development in language and literacy education. It is appropriate for those who work in all areas of language and literacy education, including school-based literacy education, adult literacy, TESL and bilingual education. Candidates will normally have a bachelor's degree and a teaching, or related professional qualification.

Prescriptions for the PGDip(LangLitEd)

To complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Language and Literacy Education, students must take 120 points at 500 level, including ALED501 and at least two of ALED502, ALED503, ALED504, ALED507, ALED508, ALED509, ALED520, ALED521, ALED522, ALED523, ALED524 and ALED525; and one other approved paper.
Students intending to undertake a 120 point thesis for their MEd must include an approved 500 level research methods paper in their Postgraduate Diploma.
